New Delhi: Shared electric vehicle (EV) mobility technology major Yulu has begun its service in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Telangna’s Information Technology and Industries and Commerce Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan (IAS) inaugurated the inaugural event.

Speaking at the launch event Mr Ranjan said ,Telangana government is expanding the electric car sector, with Hyderabad being a prime location for innovative technology and business models. Pioneering mobility-as-a-service providers like Yulu are welcome to the city’s shared mobility scene, aligning with the state government’s goal of providing comprehensive intra-city mobility infrastructure.

The inaugural event included an EV rally by city-based delivery partners representing Swiggy, Blinkit, Zepto, and other businesses.

Yulu’s debut into the City of Pearls is a significant milestone in the company’s mission to revolutionize clean and shared mobility in urban India. To begin with, Yulu will deploy its purpose-built DeX EVs in the Cyberabad Commissionerate area – a knowledge and technology hub comparable to the nation’s finest industrial centres.

Yulu is one of India’s most popular shared EV brands, making mobility more affordable, accessible, and environmentally friendly in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Delhi, Gurugram, Indore, Kochi, and Tirunelveli.

Yulu has powered over 110 million green deliveries to date and has grown in popularity due to its excellent product-market fit for e-commerce and quick-commerce applications, cutting-edge technology, and industry-first flexible pricing model, which allows delivery partners to save 30-40% more.

Yulu’s goal in Hyderabad is to repeat its success in other markets. Hyderabad, a cosmopolitan city with rising income levels and tech-savvy population, is well-known for its great infrastructure, business parks and tech hubs.

Yulu’s green, app-based hyperlocal delivery services cater to the growing e-commerce and food delivery industries in Hyderabad, aligning with the State Government’s goal for comprehensive urban development.

Yulu’s service also aligns with the State Government’s goal of providing comprehensive intra-city mobility infrastructure and long-term development of the metropolitan area under the future Hyderabad Master Plan.

“Yulu is delighted to launch its service in Hyderabad, an economic and business powerhouse whose citizens share a love for technology-led solutions for everyday life,” Yulu Co-Founder and CEO Amit Gupta said.

Yulu offers delivery riders smart technology, compact form factor, and affordable rental packs. It provides zero maintenance, minimal downtime, and one-minute battery swaps at Yuma Energy’s battery swap stations. Yulu also eliminates entry barriers for gig workers, including women.

Yulu’s service will help state and city administrations create jobs and promote sustainable urbanization, resulting in a greener future for Hyderabad and beyond.
