RECPDCL hands over ₹22,700 Cr HVDC transmission project to Adani Energy

GURUGRAM: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has officially handed over the Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited, the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the HVDC Transmission Project, to Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL).

AESL was selected as the Transmission Service Provider through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. The project involves the establishment of two HVDC terminal stations at Bhadla (Rajasthan) and Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh), along with a 955-kilometer HVDC line, with an estimated cost of ₹22,700 Crore. This marks the first HVDC transmission project awarded to a private sector developer via the TBCB route.

The project is set to be completed over a 54-month period. The handover ceremony took place at RECPDCL’s headquarters in Gurugram and was attended by senior officials from RECPDCL, AESL, and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited.
