New Delhi :The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) began the first Advanced Leadership Development Programme on Public Policy and Governance for civil servants from several nations in the FIPIC/IORA region today at NCGG in Mussoorie.
The program, spanning August 5th–16th, 2024, will feature 40 distinguished participants from various countries, representing key ministries and institutions.
Shri V. Srinivas, Director General of NCGG and Secretary of DARPG, welcomed participants from the FIPIC/IORA region. He highlighted technology’s role in bringing citizens closer to government, India’s policy of “Minimum Government and Maximum Governance,” and digital empowerment.
Shri Srinivas encouraged group discussions on digital governance, civil service history, sustainable development goals, and infrastructure development and provided comprehensive learning experiences through various themes and tours.
The NCGG, an autonomous Indian institution, is dedicated to action research, capacity building, and strengthening bilateral ties, aligning with the Indian philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
Denisea A. Clarisse, Director General of the Seychelles’ Ministry of Local Government, expressed gratitude to the Indian government and NCGG for the initiative, expressing hope for cross-country knowledge sharing and successful implementation.
Dr. BS Bisht, Associate Professor at NCGG, discussed the organization’s achievements and objectives. NCGG has trained civil servants from 23 countries, including Bangladesh, Kenya, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Cambodia, and has evolved into a Center for Excellence.
NCGG’s inaugural session featured Smt. Prisca Poly Mathew, Dr. Himashi Rastogi, and Dr. Gazala Hassan, with the program coordinated by Dr. B. S. Bisht, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, and Ms. Monisha Bahuguna.
