Ministry of Electronics and IT to host ‘Nano Electronics Roadshow’ on March 27

BENGALURU : The Nanotechnology Initiatives Division of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in partnership with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru and five Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), will host the Nano Electronics Roadshow and Conference on Semiconductor Ecosystem in India on March 27 at the National Science Seminar Complex, IISc Bengaluru. The event will begin at 9 a.m.

The initiative aims to bring together key stakeholders from government, industry, academia, strategic sectors, startups and venture capital firms to drive innovation and collaboration in nanoelectronics.

Shri S. Krishnan, secretary of MeitY, will be the chief guest, alongside guests of honor including Abhishek Singh, additional secretary of MeitY; Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO of Anusandhan National Research Foundation; Utpal Shah, senior vice president of strategy and business development at Tata Electronics; Anand Ramamoorthy, managing director of Micron; and V. Narayanan, chair of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The roadshow will cover topics such as quantum technology, neuromorphic computing, artificial intelligence, and advancements in India’s nanoelectronics sector. It will also feature nearly 50 technology demonstrations and participation from 25 deep-tech startups, 25 venture capital firms and 25 industry representatives.

“The Nano Electronics Roadshow is a crucial step toward India’s semiconductor self-sufficiency,” Krishnan said.

“MeitY has promoted nano science centers in six IITs and IISc to build a strong foundation of scientists, technologists and professionals in the semiconductor space. This event brings together deep-tech startups, technology demonstrations and industry players who have benefited from these initiatives. We hope this will be the first of many such events driving India toward semiconductor self-reliance in line with the prime minister’s vision under the India Semiconductor Mission.,” he added.

The event will provide a platform for India’s electronics startups to showcase their innovations and connect with investors to accelerate growth. As India focuses on Atmanirbhar Bharat, the initiative underscores the government’s commitment to self-reliance in electronics innovation and manufacturing.
