IAS Officer Sachin Rana wins best electoral practices, CM’s Excellence Award

NEW DELHI — Sachin Rana, an IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre (2014 batch) and the additional chief electoral officer of Delhi, has been awarded the Best Electoral Practices Award for his role in ensuring free and fair elections during the 2024 General Election and the 2025 Delhi Assembly Election.

The award was presented at the NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi on Feb. 17 in the presence of the lieutenant governor of Delhi, who felicitated the awardees. Rana was recognized for his efforts in enforcing the Model Code of Conduct and overseeing social media monitoring, which contributed to maintaining electoral integrity.

Rana also received the Chief Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration in Arunachal Pradesh for 2024. As deputy commissioner of Papum Pare, Yupia district, he was recognized for implementing innovative public service initiatives and governance reforms.

The awards highlight Rana’s commitment to public service, good governance, and democratic transparency, reinforcing his role as a dedicated civil servant.
