NEW DELHI – The Department of Legal Affairs (DoLA) marked International Women’s Day with a special visit to Agra for its female officers and staff on March 1. The trip, aimed at honoring and empowering women in the workplace, was flagged off by Union Minister of State (I/C) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal.
Led by DoLA Secretary Anju Rathi Rana, the initiative provided participants with an enriching experience at cultural and historical sites, reinforcing the department’s commitment to fostering a supportive and stress-free work environment.
The group visited the Taj Mahal, where they explored the architectural marvel and its historical significance, followed by a tour of Agra’s Red Fort. The event received positive feedback, with participants appreciating the recognition of their contributions.
DoLA expressed gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh government and the Archaeological Survey of India for facilitating the visit.
As part of its weeklong celebrations from March 8-15, DoLA has scheduled several events, including an essay competition on March 11 focused on “Women Empowerment in the Context of Social Transformation and Gender Inclusivity.” Meghwal will felicitate the winners. A panel discussion is also planned to encourage dialogue on workplace inclusivity and women’s empowerment.
By organizing these initiatives, DoLA aims to create an inclusive and supportive work environment, recognizing the contributions of women across all levels.
