SURAJPUR, Greater Noida: The Wellman Foundation inaugurated its new Skill Development Center in Surajpur, Greater Noida, with renowned educationist and Padma Shri awardee Professor J.S. Rajput leading the ceremony as chief guest.
The inauguration marked a major step in the foundation’s mission to empower youth through education and vocational training. Speaking to attendees, Professor Rajput emphasized the importance of inclusive education.
“Connecting children from underprivileged communities with the mainstream education system is a collective responsibility,” he said. “Even if one child from a poor family enters the educational mainstream, it becomes a crucial step toward the holistic development of society.”
Rajput also underscored that education is a lifelong process. “It’s not just about technical knowledge. We must stay mentally agile, and we can learn from teachers and children, nature, and our surroundings,” he added.
The event was held under the guidance of Dr. Rehman and Dr. Poonam, whose leadership played a key role in organizing the program. Velman Foundation Director Mr. Tayyab Hussain was joined by key team members, including Ms. Shilpi, Mr. Ajay Pratap Singh, Mr. Brijesh Sirohi, Mr. Alok, Mr. Ravi, Mr. Shanti Shekhar, Mr. Prabhat, and Mr. Prabhat Pathak. Dedicated field workers and volunteers — including Smriti, Shamim Bano, Shanam Moin, Jaman Mohammad, Mohammad Hasan, Mohammad Hussain, Sanjeed Aman, Kanchan, Riya, Armaan, and Tahir Ali — were also present.
As part of the launch, a one-day capacity-building workshop was conducted for young participants. Facilitated by Dr. Rehman and Dr. Poonam, the training focused on communication skills, goal setting, technical proficiency, leadership, and building a positive mindset to overcome challenges.
The event concluded with certificate distribution to all participants, marking a successful beginning for the center’s efforts to build brighter futures through skill development and community engagement.
