GURUGRAM : REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC Limited under India’s Ministry of Power, handed over Rajasthan IV 4B Power Transmission Limited, a special purpose vehicle (SPV), to Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon Private Limited yesteday, in Gurugram.
The company was selected as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through a Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding process conducted by RECPDCL. The project will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis.
The transmission scheme, with an estimated cost of ₹5,177.41 crore, will facilitate the evacuation of 3.5 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zone. It includes a 765/400 kV, 2×1500 MVA substation near Merta, 577.97 km of 765 kV transmission lines, and 72.8 km of 400 kV lines.
T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, officially handed over the SPV to Amit Kumar, Senior Vice President of Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, the private firm, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months.
