NEW DELHI – REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Ltd., a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power, transferred the project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV) Mahan Transmission Ltd. to Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. on March 26.
Adani Energy Solutions emerged as the transmission service provider (TSP) through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the bid process coordinator, for the development of the project on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis.
The SPV was handed over to Shashank Sharma, head of business development at Adani Energy Solutions, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, Adani Energy Solutions, MPPMCL, and MPPTCL. The implementation deadline is Oct. 25, 2026, for the Rewa (Sagra) substation and April 25, 2027, for the Amarpatan substation.
The project includes the construction of 400/220/132 kV substations at Rewa (Sagra) and Amarpatan, a 166-km 400 kV transmission line between PTEMPL (MEL) switchyard and Rewa (Sagra), and a 50-km 400 kV line between Rewa (Sagra) and Amarpatan, along with associated 220 kV and 132 kV lines. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 1,996.47 crore.
