REC subsidiary inks pact with Sterlite Grid  for Beawar Transmission project

New Delhi: RECPDCL, a subsidiary of power sector Maharatna REC, has handed over the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the Beawar Transmission Project to Sterlite Grid 27 Limited.

The government of India is implementing SPV works for its 500 GW RE plan, including a 765/400 kV substation and a 765 kV double circuit in Beawar, Rajasthan.

After its successful implementation, the 18-month project aims to evacuate renewable energy power from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zones (REZs).

Shri V.K. Singh, Director of Projects at RECL/Director, RECPDCL, handed over the SPV to Sterlite Executive Vice President Tatimakula Amarendranath Reddy, in the presence of other senior officials.

Following the handover of the SPV, RECPDCL successfully handed over 53 transmission projects worth approximately Rs 72170 crore.
