President unveils Atal’s portrait at ICCR

New Delhi:  A portrait of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was unveiled by President Ram Nath Kovind on his 2nd death anniversary at the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) headquarters in Delhi.

The portrait has been created in oil-on-canvas by well-known painter Vasudeo Kamath. National President of Sanskar Bharti, Vasudev Kamat, has been honored with the Guruji Award and National Award of Central Lalit Kala Academy, Delhi. Sanskar Bharti paid a respectful tribute to Vajpayee Ji on his death anniversary.

Atal Ji had an extensive attachment to Sanskar Bharti, he was a part of almost every national-level event of Sanskar Bharti. 

Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan, ICCR Chief Vinay Sahasrabuddhe besides a host of other dignitaries were present on the occasion of the virtual unveiling of the portrait by the President.

ICCR was established on 9 April 1950 to actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes pertaining to India’s external cultural relations; to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries and to promote cultural exchanges with other foreign countries and people.
