NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) launched its annual vigilance compendium, Satark, in a ceremony held recently at the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Conference Hall. The initiative aims to reinforce vigilance awareness among ministry officials while recognizing their contributions.

Minister of State for I&B Dr. L. Murugan presided over the event, distributing awards to officials who excelled in vigilance competitions. In his keynote address, Murugan underscored the importance of vigilance in administrative functioning and commended officials and their family members for their contributions to the compendium.

“The essence of vigilance and awareness is the foundation of any efficient administration,” Murugan said. “The participation of officials and their families in this initiative strengthens its impact.”

Senior ministry officials, including Shri Dhirendra Ojha, Principal Director General of PIB, attended the event. Ojha urged attendees to uphold vigilance principles and extend the message of Vigilance Awareness Week throughout the organization.

Shri Sanjiv Shankar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of I&B, highlighted the ministry’s vigilance efforts, emphasizing the need for perseverance, integrity, and leadership in tackling vigilance-related challenges. He noted that Satark marks a significant milestone by including contributions from both officials and their family members, with a special mention of an article written by a seven-year-old child.

The event also featured the contributions of Shri Samrat Bandopadhyay, Director, PIB, and his family. Addressing the gathering, Murugan emphasized the principle that “charity begins at home,” stating that discipline instilled within families serves as a model for professional environments.

The compendium Satark showcases creative and innovative literary works, with a focus on institutionalizing vigilance within the ministry’s organizational culture.
