NEW DELHI: India-based policy think tank CUTS International and Australia’s Newland Global Group (NGG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 28 to enhance trade, investment, and policy collaboration between the two nations.
The agreement, signed virtually by CUTS Secretary General Pradeep S. Mehta and NGG CEO Dipen Rughani, aims to foster joint research, advocacy, and business facilitation, focusing on sectors such as clean energy, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
The MoU aligns with Australia’s 2025 Roadmap for Economic Engagement with India and the recent third anniversary of the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA). Bilateral trade between the two countries reached $49.1 billion in 2023.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to fostering Australia-India collaboration through evidence-based policy,” Mehta said.
Rughani added that the collaboration would deliver practical solutions to advance the Australia-India economic corridor.
