New Delhi: Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) and Association of Private Detectives and Investigators (APDI) have joined hands for yet another noble initiative of ‘Housing for All’ aimed at the welfare and growth of Private Security Industry (PSI).
This time the powerful handshake has come up with the provision of providing affordable housing to the private security professionals as per the guidelines laid down by Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The target is to get 1 crore such accommodations by 2020 with the investment of 3.35 lakh crore.
As per the scheme, the collaboration of CAPSI and APDI will get affordable houses for the security men by associating with townships that have reserved some accommodations for the Economically Weaker Section of the society.
To start with, 200+ such houses from the varied townships have been taken over and are currently under the improvement and renovation process. Both Central and State governments have also come in support of the project and have assured the collaboration of adequate investment cover to make it an overall success.
Friendly to the pocket, these houses can be easily accessed by security guards who hold an annual salary of 3 lakhs along with varied subsidies for various services of electricity, water and more for an ease of living.
While talking about the Housing for all – Joint initiative of CAPSI and APDI, CAPSI Chairman Kunwar Vikram Pratap Singh says, “Every township has reserved some accommodations for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of society. At times, these houses end up lying vacant resulting in complete wastage of resources without even helping the needy. CAPSI has recommended these townships to provide up to 200+ such houses which they can then renovate for their reputed guardsmen.”
He further added, “By providing adequate housing and living conditions, this initiative on an overall will improve the social stature of the PSI sector which employs around 8 million entrepreneurs and guards both comprising of men and women.”
